Andrew Iatridis | AIA

Andrew Iatridis received his Bachelor of Arts majoring in Architecture and Urban Planning from Hampshire College in 1986 and a Masters degree in Architecture from the North Carolina State University School of Design in 1989.

In 1990, Andrew received both the AIA Scholastic Award Certificate of Merit for excellence in the study of Architecture and the Department of Architecture School of Design NCAIA Award for Design Achievement. After graduating from NC State, Andrew worked for John Taylor Associates in London, UK, where he worked on a large underground mall in Lisbon, Portugal and a mountain community in Bulgaria. Prior to establishing ORA Architecture, he worked as design lead at Brien Atkins in the Research Triangle, as a partner at New City Design Group in Raleigh, NC, as Owner of iARC Design in Raleigh, and as the director of commercial design at Cline Design Associates in Raleigh.

Andrew has been a visiting critic at North Carolina State School of Design. In 2007, Andrew began partnering in development projects that coupled personal investment and architectural services. His work has received 12 awards from the AIA, local organizations, and builders associations. Andrew has devoted himself to the development of architecture that is representative of the unique qualities of each project, each client, and each build site.

Chris Grimes | AIA

Chris Grimes received his degree from San Diego State University in 1986, earning a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science with an emphasis in environmental design. After graduation, Chris went to work for the award-winning firm of PAPA (Pacific Associates Planners Architects) in San Diego, CA. While with PAPA, Chris was involved in many different types of projects, including Escondido City Hall, Moreno Valley City Hall, University of California Irvine - Fine Arts and Humanities Building, and the Vista Del Lago Recreational Center.

After PAPA closed its US doors, Chris went to work for the San Diego Unified School District in its Facilities Department. While with the school district, Chris was involved in implementing the CAD system as a facilities management tool, and he was instrumental in creating the CAD standards for the district. In 1993, Chris became licensed as an architect in California. After licensure, Chris moved on to Fehlman LaBarre, where he stayed for 8 years, ultimately becoming a senior associate with the firm. While with Fehlman LaBarre, Chris was involved in a wide variety of projects, including several multiplex cinemas, numerous retail centers, and mixed-use buildings.

Chris then moved on to North Carolina, where he joined the firm of Cline Design. After joining Cline Design, Chris established the Retail Studio, which was responsible for all of the retail work that was produced in the firm such, as Park West Village, Beaver Creek Commons, and Beaver Creek Crossings. Chris quickly rose to become an associate principal with the firm.

David Renzulli | AIA, LEED AP BD+C

David Renzulli received his Bachelor of Environmental Design From the University of Kansas in 1983 and his Bachelor of Architecture in 1984. While attending the University of Kansas, David's architectural photography and furniture design and construction were featured in numerous art shows within the university. While attending the university, David worked with various architectural firms in Topeka and Kansas City, Kansas.

Upon graduation in 1984, David Relocated to Raleigh, NC. Since relocating to Raleigh, David has gained experience in every aspect of the field of architecture. David has worked on numerous projects, including public schools, office buildings (low and high rise), retail, parking structures, mixed-use, and residential. David acquired his architectural license in 1991, his National Council of Architectural Registration Board (NCARB) certificate in 1992, and he became a LEED Accredited Professional 2007, later upgraded to LEED AP BD+C 2009 (LEED Accredited Professional Building Design and Construction).

Throughout the years, David has acquired the reputation, with clients, of timely decisions, understanding the client's needs, outstanding communication, dedication to exceptional design, comprehensive documents, and sustainable practices. Prior to opening ORA Architecture as a principal with Andrew Iatridis and Chris Grimes, David became a senior associate with Cline Design Associates in Raleigh, NC, due to his work on high-profile projects, such as Diamond View 2 in Durham, NC, RDU #3 office complex in Cary, NC, and Powerhouse Plaza mixed-use project in Raleigh, NC.

James Mulligan

James Mulligan received his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2003. Soon after graduation, James returned to his home town of Raleigh to work with a large Architectural firm. There James had the privilege of meeting and working with Chris Grimes, David Renzulli and Andrew Iatridis in the commercial and retail studios. During his time with there he was also involved in multiple mixed use and multi-family housing projects. James was asked to join the ORA Architecture team in 2012. “The thing I enjoy most about my work with ORA is the dedication and attention to design and detail. There is a lot of experience and knowledge here to build upon, and working with ORA on a broad range of projects is a privilege.” James brings his many years of experience in shop design and fabrication, and is especially focused on design and construction detailing. “I consider my colleagues at ORA to be both friends and mentors, and look forward to many more successful projects in the future.”
